A/Prof Jennifer Moodley appointed Deputy Dean for Research in the Faculty of Health Sciences
Associate Professor Jennifer Moodley has been appointed as Deputy Dean for Research in the Faculty.
Jennifer is a Public Health Medicine physician and an Associate Fellow of the College of Public Health Medicine (South Africa). She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of KwaZulu Natal, and her PhD and MMed (Public Health) at UCT.
She has been involved in the development and implementation of diverse public health programs and policies; conducted health systems research to support national and provincial public health objectives and trained under- and post-graduates to meet similar responsibilities.
Jennifer is Director of the Cancer Research Initiative, a Faculty program that fosters integrated, interdisciplinary cancer research, develops cancer research capacity and supports the translation of research into preventive, therapeutic and public health strategies. Jennifer currently serves on the South African Ministerial Committee on the Prevention and Control of Cancer (MACC) and chairs the MACC research working group.
