Dr Simon Mendelsohn receives UCT College of Fellows "Young Researchers Award"
SATVI's Dr Simon Mendelsohn, has been named one of three recipients of the prestigious 2025 College of Fellows’ Young Researcher Award.
This is in recognition of his work dedicated to advancing tuberculosis diagnostics and treatment through the development and validation of innovative tools. These include methods for detecting persistent Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb) infection, identifying incipient and asymptomatic TB disease, tracking treatment response, and enabling biomarker-guided preventive and curative therapies.
