SATVI marks World TB Day 2015
On World TB Day (24 March 2015), the University of Cape Town-based South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative partnered with Aeras, a global TB vaccine research group, to raise awareness about TB amongst primary and secondary school children in the Worcester area.

The program, which was facilitated by experienced Kick TB facilitators visited Roodewal Primary, Alfred Stamper, Vusisiwe Secondary and Avian Park Primary. Participating schools received a match quality soccer ball with a strong TB/HIV awareness message. The Schools Program reached close to 5 000 school learners, promoting an awareness of TB, the signs and symptoms of TB and preventing TB.
