Tammy’s research focusses on understanding and supporting long-term adherence to antiretroviral therapy and retention in HIV care. By combining behavioural and implementation research, she aims to design and test scalable interventions in this area. She is specifically interested in challenges faced by the health system and by people living with HIV, including postpartum women, during times of mobility. She holds an NIH K43 grant which aims to incorporate patient preference and choice into the design and implementation of interventions to support re-engagement in HIV care after a treatment interruption. Tammy teaches in the MPH program and supervises master’s and PhD students in the Division. She is currently chair of the School of Public Health Departmental Research Committee.
