The Master of Philosophy in Occupational Health - MPhil (Occupational Health) is a degree aimed at occupational health professionals who are interested in pursuing a research-based masters degree. Students register for part-time academic study and are required to complete three courses primarily offered through the Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health Programme (occupational health risk assessment and management; occupational medicine and work ability; and occupational health services management, ethics and legislation), and a further 2 courses aimed at developing competency in conducting research on an occupational health topic (Epidemiology and Biostatistics for Occupational Health, Research Methods for Occupational Health) over a two-year period. The courses are offered face-to-face in block sessions (one per semester) over the two-year period. Attendance is compulsory and constitutes a DP requirement. In the third year, students embark on their research fieldwork and write up their masters dissertation in order to fulfil the requirements of the degree.
