I write to share the excellent news that several members of the Department of Medicine have been promoted through UCT's ad hominem process in 2023 as follows: 

To Associate Professor: Blanche Cupido

To Full Professor: Ian Ross, Jantina de Vries, Jonny Peter, Lubbe Wiesner and Mark Sonderup

These promotions each reflect very substantial contributions over many years across the domains of scholarship, clinical service, teaching and social responsiveness at our university, in our health services, and in our society more broadly. 

Congratulations to all these colleagues, we are very proud of their achievements as a Department.
