The UCT Division of Emergency Medicine offers five postgraduate programmes at the Master’s and Doctoral level.

• The Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Care is a fully online, coursework qualification offered over 1 year.
• The MMed in Emergency Medicine is a four year clinical programme and is the basis for registration as an Emergency Medicine specialist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
• The MPhil in Emergency Medicine is a coursework and research Master’s degree that is completed over a minimum of 2 years.
• The MSc (MED) and PhD degrees are full research degrees completed by dissertation only.
