- Inaugural GEMCARN meeting 7th Feb 2019 WHO Geneva
- Pilot data collection on evaluating the WHO Emergency Care Toolkit – early studies in Tanzania & Uganda by University of Cape Town PhD student
- An updated systematic review of quality indicators for emergency care in low resource settings has also been conducted
- Two emerging researchers from Tanzania and South Africa funded to attend training programmes and conferences in the UK: Dr. Catherine Reuben Shari (MD, MMed), an emergency physician and Honorary Lecturer at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences attended Academic Trainees Day and Emergency Medicine Research Engagement Day. The events both took place at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, London, on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 January 2020.
Ms. Elzarie Theron (MA), a research psychologist and research intern in the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Cape Town attended the Sheffield University Global Health Symposium on 23 January 2020
