Indiana Van Rensburg
Research project: The landscape of variants in the RB1 gene underlying heritable Retinoblastoma.
Indiana completed a BSc in Human Biology with Psychology at Stellenbosch University in 2019. In 2022 she graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science Honours specializing in Human Genetics from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Her research project, performed under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Roberts, focused on the “Investigation of specific mutations underlying autosomal recessive inherited retinal disease in cohorts of South African patients”. In 2022, she remained in the retinal degeneration research group at the Division of Human Genetics, UCT, where she is currently undertaking an MSc (Med).
