Prof Telahun Teka Wolde
Prof. Telahun Teka Wolde (MBChB, MSc) has the following postgraduate training: Speciality in Pediatrics and Child Health (AAU, Ethiopia), MSc in Public Health (ULB, Belgium), BTh, Global University (Missouri, USA), Postgraduate Diploma in International Research Ethics (UCT, South Africa), Certificate in Pediatric Bioethics (University of Missouri, USA).
Prof. Telahun has been an academician, teacher, researcher and paediatrician for thirty years, actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate training. His main areas of teaching and research were infectious diseases, clinical nutrition, and vaccination. He took short courses in vaccinology and was trained in middle-level management (MLM) of immunisation, developed by the WHO. He has served for many years as chair of the National Polio Expert Committee, co-PI of Rotavirus Surveillance and recently co-chair of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) of Ethiopia.
Prof. Telahun has over 40 publications on paediatric infectious diseases, clinical nutrition, and research ethics. He has also contributed extensively to the development of national guidelines on childhood illnesses and research ethics. He has travelled much in Africa as a conference participant and speaker, trainer and external examiner.
