DPATH TEC Amazing Race
The Department of Pathology’s Transformation and Equity Committee (DPATH TEC) hosted an “Amazing Race” competition on 21 Sept in celebration of Heritage Day. The aim of the competition was so staff and students of all cultures and creeds could come together to celebrate their diverse heritage by participating in an exchange of traditional experiences to recognise and appreciate the cultural wealth of our Rainbow Nation.
Staff and students participated in teams of two, to complete various cultural challenges such as the samosa folding challenge, match the food with the flag, match the language with the country, fold a doek challenge, anthem challenge, etc. The challenges were designed to create cultural awareness and honouring the traditions of the many cultures that make up our nation.
Congratulations to our winners Janine Fredericks and Brandon Perumaul who represented the DOI and placed third place in the competition, and to Adeebah Rakiep and Blessing Moses for participating. We are so proud of you guys!
