Full name: Faldeelah Fisher

Position at UCT: Divisional Administrator & PA to Prof Clive Gray

Previous Position: Administrator for the UCT Clinical Research Centre

What are your duties at the DOI?

  • Responsible for the complete PA function to HoDiv (arranging meetings, handling correspondence, travel arrangements, Purchasing Card administration, diary management, fund administration etc.)

Why did you choose to join the DOI?

After 5 years in the same role, I knew I was stagnating and needed growth, skills development and new challenges to pull me out of my comfort zone.

What are your goals at the DOI?

My short-term goals are to develop my current skills to an elevated level by using all the tools and training available to me, so I may add value to my division and department by becoming an efficient, knowledgeable and competent administrator.

My long-term goal is to make a ton of money so I can travel the world! Hahaha Seriously though, I am a people’s person and enjoy interacting with the staff and students. I particularly enjoy course administration and would like to gradually gravitate towards opportunities at centres such as CHED, CILT, Staff Learning Centre, etc.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

I hate being late for anything, especially work!

Any interesting hobbies?

I make personalised gift boxes and baskets for friends and family on request.
