Samuel Kariuki awarded his PhD
A member of the DOI, Samuel Kariuki graduated with his PhD on 12th December, he is part of the Cellular immunology group. His supervisor is Associate Professor Jeffrey Dorfman and his co-supervisor is Professor Carolyn Williamson.
Dr Kariuki's thesis title was: Male genital tract versus blood HIV-1 compartmentalization and selection: the first step of transmission bottleneck?
Dr Kariuki holds a BSc in Microbiology from Moi University, Kenya and a MSc degree in Molecular Biology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He joined the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and Division of Immunology at UCT for his PhD studies.
