Miss Thina Gcobo

Thina Gcobo, in 2021 completed my BSc. Medical Bioscience at the University of the Western Cape and in 2023 I completed my BHSc.(Hons) Molecular Medicine and Haematology. In 2024, I joined the University of Cape Town, Division of Human Genetics in the Pharmacogenomics and Drug metabolism research group, where I am currently registered for MSc and working on a project titled “Genetics Spectrum of Nephrotic Syndrome in South African paediatric patients,” under the supervision of Dr Khuthala Mnika and our research interests focus on understanding the genetic of inherited kidney diseases in African populations.
