Maryam Rumaney
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree (BSc Human Life Science) at the University of Stellenbosch, graduating with four majors – Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology and Physiology. I then went on to do my Bachelor of Honours degree in Human Genetics, under the faculty of Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University, where I worked on a project involving prostate cancer: “The functional characterisation of polymorphisms associated with prostate cancer in South African men.” I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Genetics at The University of Cape Town.
