Arinao Ndadza
Research Project: The role of genetic variants in genes affecting pharmacokinetics of warfarin response
Arinao completed a BSc in Medical Sciences at the University of Limpopo (Turfloop campus) in 2014. In the fourth year of study she was majoring in Medical Genetics under the supervision of Prof. Kathrine Scholtz. Her research project was focused on “Genotyping for obesity-linked genetic mutations in females in Dikgale health demographic surveillance system in rural South Africa”. After completion of her BSc degree, she then joined the department of Virology, specifically in the Diarrhoeal Pathogens Research unit (DPRU) at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) (formerly known as Medunsa) in 2015 as a research assistant then later as a DST/NRF intern. In 2017, she then joined the University of Cape Town (UCT), Division of Human Genetics in the Pharmacogenomics and Drug metabolism research group (PharmGx), where she is currently doing an MSc (Med).
