Associate Professor Karen Fieggen

Dr Karen Fieggen received her medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 1986. Thereafter, she trained as a specialist in paediatrics at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, obtaining her FCPaed (SA) in 1994. She returned to UCT to do subspecialist training in Medical Genetics in 2003. Dr Fieggen is privileged to work as a subspecialist medical geneticist leading an excellent team of medical genetic doctors, genetic counsellors and genetic nurses in providing medical genetic services to both children and adults in the Western Cape and beyond.
