HIV and TB EPIDEMIOLOGY & BIOSTATISTICS WORKSHOP
HIV and TB EPIDEMIOLOGY & BIOSTATISTICS WORKSHOP
A newly structured online course was held over 6 weeks from 19th July to 27th September 2022, in fortnightly 2 hour sessions.
Each session centered around two HIV-TB manuscripts that illustrated key design and methodological research points. Manuscripts and a worksheet related to each topic were sent to the attendees a week ahead of each session. Where possible the authors of the manuscripts were invited to present a summary of the origin and development of the research study to enable the attendees to understand the breadth of possible research for early career researchers. Each session was followed by discussion with the authors and the Faculty.
The topics covered were:
Session 1: Cross-sectional prevalence study and Operational/diagnostic research
Leaders: Kate Shearer and Bianca Sossen
Session 2: Retrospective observational cohort studies
Leaders: Graeme Meintjes, Kate Schnippel, Samantha Kaplan, and Andrew Boulle
