Chanté du Toit joined the FTU of the Western Cape FPS in 2018, first as graduate intern and then as a Forensic Scientist (Toxicology) from 2020, and is currently situated in the Division of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the University of Cape Town. Chanté obtained her BSc. degree in Medical Sciences and BSc. Honours degree in Physical Anthropology from the University of Pretoria, and an MPhil. degree in Biomedical Forensic Science from the University of Cape Town. Chanté is a member of the South African Academy of Forensic Sciences (SAAFS), the Toxicology Society of South Africa (TOXSA), and The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT). She is also registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Professional Natural Scientist in the field of Toxicological Science.
