Towards advancing nursing practice: Priorities for developing the clinical scholar and clinical scientist in Africa
This event took place in Durban, South Africa on Tuesday April 16th through to Thursday April 18th 2024, with a welcome dinner on Monday April 15th.
The 3-day collaborative workshop provided an opportunity to explore, share experiences, lessons learnt and collaboratively envision a pathway for advancing nursing and midwifery practice within Africa.
It was organised in collaboration between the University KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), the Duke University School of Nursing, Durham, NC (USA), the University of Cape Town (South Africa) and the Academy of Nursing of South Africa. There were 20 participants from Ghana (2), Malawi (2), Rwanda (3), Kenya (3), South Africa (7) and United States (3).
Such a great honour for Natasha and Minette to co-facilitate this event using graphic recording techniques, and it was wonderful to spend time with many CNDU alumni, long term collaborators and friends.
