| MSc student, Titus Mashilo and colleagues, Thobani Sangweni, Tshepang Malefane, Kouzhali Manikon, and Lungile Magubane participated in an MTN challenge through Enactus UCT. Enactus is an international organisation that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. Early this year, Enactus UCT entered the MTN ICT iinformation and communications technology) challenge, which aims to provide digital solutions that address health, agriculture and education issues. Our project is in the health sector and aims to tackle issues pertaining to Diabetes. We want to develop an app, “DiaNet”, that will tackle issues related to diabetes. On the 14th of July 2022, we pitched our project at the Enactus South Africa National Competition 2022 in Johannesburg. DiaNet was one of the projects that was awarded funding (R60 000) to move into the development stage. |
