MSc / Medical Scientist Intern Scientists shine at H.i.P Research Symposium- Dec 2021
Two of our intern medical scientists, Lwando Mampunye and Sarah Lampert (MSc student), had their abstracts accepted for the symposium.
Lwando presented an oral based on his Masters’ research entitled ‘Pioneering BRCA1/2 point-of-care testing of integration of germline and tumour genetics in breast cancer risk management’ and was awarded ‘Most Creative Oral Presentation’ in his technical session.
Sarah presented a poster based on an HPLC method she developed and validated with her supervisor, Joanne Pillay, entitled ‘Development and validation of a quantitative method to measure retinol and retinyl palmitate from plasma using high performance liquid chromatography’ and was awarded ‘Most Creative Poster Presentation’ in her technical session, and ‘Most Interactive Participant’ in another technical session.
