From evidence to action and advocacy: co-creation through mutual learning

Work Package 4

WP 4

How can we harness community and policymaker voices to advocate for reduced alcohol harm and influence policy/interventions?

Work Package 4 (WP4) focuses on translating evidence into action through collaboration, mutual learning, and co-creation with communities and policymakers in South Africa and Botswana. It explores how community voices and policy stakeholders can be meaningfully engaged to advocate for reduced alcohol-related harm and to inform the development of effective policies and interventions.

This work strengthens collaboration and engagement processes to support inclusive policy and intervention development. It also documents the data needed to monitor the alcohol environment over time, contributing to sustainable evidence systems. Through capacity strengthening, community engagement, and active involvement of stakeholders, WP4 seeks to co-create a shared understanding of alcohol-related challenges and practical solutions. By bridging research and action, this work package supports informed dialogue and evidence-based policy reform.
