Kamunkhwala Gausi joined our group in March 2018 and just graduated as a PhD with a focus on characterising

the drug-drug interaction between TB and antiretroviral drugs in neglected populations.

Her research describes the effect of pregnancy on TB drugs (isoniazid and bedaquiline) and antiretroviral (efavirenz) and identifies the optimal dose of isoniazid in TB patients with low-intermediate level isoniazid-resistance. We are happy that she will continue to work with the group as a postdoctoral fellow. She recently was awarded the Harry Crossley postdoctoral research fellowship 2022, where she will continue working on improving HIV and TB treatment in neglected populations.
