Lufina undertakes the 2024 Next Generation Scientist Internship

Lufina spent the past three months in Basel, Switzerland, working on a pharmacometrics methodology project at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, under the Next Generation Scientist program.

Lufina Tsirizani was one of 18 students from low-and-middle income countries who were selected to undertake the 2024 Next Generation Scientist program at Novartis. Lufina’s work during the internship focused on understanding and applying causal inference methods to pharmacometrics. The Next Generation Scientist Program by Novartis and the University of Basel is an intensive internship program for talented and motivated research scientists from emerging countries and is designed to foster both their scientific and professional development.
