In a publication titled “Optimizing dosing and fixed-dose combinations of rifampicin, isoniazid, and pyrazinamide in pediatric patients with tuberculosis: a prospective population pharmacokinetic study” in Clinical Infectious Diseases we prospectively investigated the drug exposure in first-line tuberculosis treatment. We show that there is considerable potential to improve drug doses of all three drugs and propose an improved dosing strategy. We hope that our work will contribute to improving tuberculosis treatment for children.
