The Harry Crossley Children's Nursing Development Unit continues to work with children’s nursing leaders and teams to articulate and establish best practice in local and regional clinical facilities and services.
This work is achieved through a range of key activities and the availability of context-specific tools and resources, many developed over more than a decade of scholarly activity. These include:
- A monthly online Journal Club that is freely available to all through YouTube.
- Africa’s first Best Practice Project which supporting nurses to achieve measurably better practice,
- The development and publication of Afrocentric evidence-based practice guidelines for children’s nursing, freely downloadable for use in clinical settings.
- Structured specialist Clinical Internships in various areas of child health.
- The biennial Building Children’s Nursing Conference.
- The Strengthening Paediatric Burns Care project
