The event was convened by the African Research on Ageing Network (AFRAN) and co-hosted by the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) in Abuja, Nigeria, 8–10 July 2008.
The three-day workshop aimed to identify information and training needs towards the development of a corps of health professionals skilled in caring for older clients. Four countries were represented in the Dialogue: Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa.
