Dr Rachael Dangarembizi awarded TW Kambule-NSTF Award: Emerging Researcher prize at “Science Oscars”

CIDRI-Africa Contributing Investigator Dr Rachael Dangarembizi received the TW Kambule-NSTF Award: Emerging Researcher prize sponsored by the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS) on Thursday 31st July 2025 at the prestigious NSTF-South32 Awards.


Dr Dangarembizi was cited “for advancing neuroinfectious disease research, securing major funding, mentoring future scientists, and earning global recognition for her groundbreaking work on cryptococcal meningitis”. Read more about her research in the supplement to the Mail & Guardian.
