On the 14th of March 2025 the Cape Town Systematic Healthcare Action Research Project (C-SHARP) node of the South African Population Research Infrastructure Network (SAPRIN) celebrated the recruitment of their 100 000th participant. The celebrations took place at C-SHARP's offices at St Joseph's Paediatric Intermediate Care Facility in Montana, Bishop Lavis, Cape Town.

C-SHARP is an innovative urban health and demographic surveillance system node within the communities of Bishop Lavis and Nomzamo. This collaborative initiative is jointly led by the Western Cape Government: Health and Wellness (WCGHW), the City of Cape Town, and five academic institutions. C-SHARP integrates research surveillance components seamlessly into the routine provision of community-oriented primary healthcare (SAPRIN website).
