A registered paediatric nurse with 20 years of clinical paediatric nursing experience, Inger joined CNDU as a lecturer in 2007. Inger trained at Addington Hospital in Nursing (General, Community, Psychiatry) and Midwifery and then obtained a Bachelor of Nursing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Child Nursing at UCT. She later obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Nursing from the University of the Free State. She then completed the Master of Nursing degree in Child Nursing from UCT. Inger previously worked as a senior professional nurse mostly in the Trauma unit at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital and also has seven years’ experience of working in a district hospital as a forensic nurse clinician. Inger is a passionate nurse clinician and teacher, who values being able to relate to people honestly. Inger is currently on secondment within the UCT Dept of Paediatrics and Child Health, working with a multidisciplinary team to establish the Child Protection Unit at Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
