Faatima Ebrahim

Research Officer

MSc(Occupational Therapy), BSc(Occupational Therapy)

Faatima is an occupational therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience in paediatrics. Her work spans early childhood development, special needs, and disability, including extensive engagement with vulnerable communities. She has contributed across public, private, and non-governmental sectors within both the education and health systems in South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Passionate about teaching and learning, Faatima completed a Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Cape Town. Her postgraduate studies deepened her interest in population-based approaches to improving child and caregiver health and well-being in Africa. This has motivated her ongoing commitment to developing research capacity and advancing evidence-based interventions that make a measurable difference.

Now a Research Officer at the CNDU, Faatima focuses on student teaching and learning in clinical research. In this role, she continues to live out her purpose: developing the capabilities of others to engage fully in the occupations and callings that give their lives meaning.

Faatima unwinds with time in nature, a good book, and the occasional Netflix binge, although she'll defend her choice of comfort TV shows as "cultural research".
