Celebrating Excellence in Research
A huge congratulations to Clare Davis, Lecturer & Instructional Design Lead at The Harry Crossley Children’s Nursing Development Unit (CNDU), who has been recognised with the Emerging Researcher Award at the 2025 UCT Faculty of Health Sciences Education Conference. This award celebrates promising researchers who are making a significant contribution to the advancement of health sciences education.
Clare received the award for her innovative research on children’s nursing education. Her study, titled “Augmenting access and learning for children’s nurses across Africa through an innovatively designed online short course,” shines a spotlight on how asynchronous online learning can expand opportunities for nurses across the continent.
Her work not only underscores the importance of strengthening children’s nursing training but also highlights the suite of short courses developed by CNDU. By exploring new ways to increase access to learning, Clare’s research contributes to building the future capacity of the nursing profession in Africa.
Well done, Clare – this is an inspiring achievement that we are proud to celebrate!
