Call to Action on Ending Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease

Nowadays, rheumatic heart disease affects over 39 million people worldwide, mostly children and young women. This disease, that claims over 291 000 lives every year, has been criminally neglected by many countries for decades. The World Heart Federation is calling for governments and ministries of health from around the world to become more actively engaged in the fight against rheumatic heart disease.
