TAND consortium at SSBP 2025
CARA members of the TAND consortium (Tosca Heunis and Petrus de Vries) along with Jan-Paul Wagenaar, Agnies van Eeghen, Lucas Gutiérrez Lafrentz, and Anna Jansen participated in the 27th International Research Symposium of the Society for the Study of Behavioural Phenotypes (SSBP). The focus of the 2025 conference was on personalised care for rare genetic disorders. Agnies was the main local organizer of the event and did an excellent job at finding beautiful venues for all activities and secured a line-up of stimulating invited speakers. On Thursday, Jan-Paul presented an invited talk on his family’s journey with TSC. On Friday, Tosca delivered a talk on the ‘Feasibility and acceptability of the TAND Toolkit App’ with results from the TANDem-1 project. She was awarded the Leclezio-de Vries prize for socially responsive research, with an emphasis on community participation. On Saturday, Lucas presented the TANDem-2 project protocol, and a poster on his doctoral research protocol, ‘Ethical challenges in the treatment and care of individuals with TAND in TSC care’. An and Petrus are Honorary Secretary and President of the SSBP, respectively, and are long-standing and very enthusiastic members of the SSBP.
