13 May 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and regulations put in place as a result of it, this year's symposium will be held online.

The symposium is a blend of insights from individuals and families challenged with Autism or mental health issues as well as research and knowledge shared by professionals.

The theme for this year is Step Ahead on Emotional Regulation.

The National Autism Symposium is in it’s 5th year and will feature on the 26th and 27th of June 2020 through digital platforms.

The symposium offers an opportunity for all health care providers, educators, social workers, parents and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to come together to connect with an expert in the field, share research and learn practical strategies to manage the condition. The successful previous events already lead to establishing an Autism assessment service at NWU and involvement in the World Health Organization Care Giver Skills Training project in the province.
