HeFSSA celebrated its 20th anniversary

The HeFSSA 4th Annual Specialist Treatment and Device Therapy Symposium was held at the Vineyard Hotel over the weekend. Convened by Prof Karen Sliwa with support from the HeFSSA Exco, the programme featured key opinion leaders in heart failure from across South Africa and abroad.

This year’s programme aimed at equipping cardiologists and physicians with practical, evidence-based education to support better outcomes in heart failure care. The symposium highlighted the value of a multi-therapy approach, with sessions covering diagnosis, imaging, medications, devices, and lifestyle interventions.
At the AGM, the new executive board was elected, which included Sarah Kraus, Rohan Lutchman, Arlene Mazaza, Nompumelelo Gogo, Thema Maluleke, Eric Klug, Mpiko Ntseke, Nqoba Tsabedze, Ntobeko Ntusi, Martin Mpe, and Karen Sliwa.
