THESUS II WORKSHOP, Abuja Nigeria 2025

The Sub-Saharan Africa Survey of Heart Failure (THESUS-HF II) investigators’ workshop took place on Tuesday, 16th September 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria. 

The workshop was jointly hosted by the Cape Heart Institute (CHI) and the Pan African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR), attracting 50 attendees, including co-investigators Prof Damasceno and Dr Neuse from Mozambique, Prof Sani from Nigeria, and chaired by principal investigator Prof Karen Sliwa (CHI). The workshop was a great success, with some site-specific results presented to investigators. The workshop featured highly interactive discussions on challenges, experiences, and successes from the study thus far across various sites. Interactive exchanges emphasised the collaborative spirit of the THESUS II study involving researchers across Africa, as highlighted in the pictures.
