Prof Sandrine Lecour receives the prestigious Gold Scientific Excellence Award

Prof Sandrine Lecour received the prestigious Gold Scientific Excellence Award at the 11th Scientific Merit Awards hosted by the South African Medical Research Council on February 20, 2025. 

The awards serve as a platform to acknowledge outstanding contributions to health sciences and to honour individuals who have demonstrated exceptional scientific acumen or made groundbreaking strides in addressing public health challenges.  The Gold Award category recognises senior scientists who have made seminal scientific contributions that have impacted people's health, especially those in developing countries. Scientists who demonstrated the impact of the research contribution on health in South Africa or globally. The Institute congratulates Prof. Lecour and wishes her everything of the best in her career.
