Assoc Prof. Gasnat Shaboodien invited to speak at a mini convention
In celebration of Women’s Month and women that make a difference, Associate Professor Gasnat Shaboodien was invited to speak at a mini convention to the top Grade 11 mathematics girls from 25 different schools from across the Cape Flats.
The Mini convention was hosted by Professor Shaheed Hartley, Head of the Advancing Knowledge Non-Profit Company (AK NPC), which is an outreach, support, training and research organisation for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education.
The hub through which the AK NPC strategic projects and programmes are delivered is called the SKATT (Science Knowledge Advancement Through Training) Centre. The SKATT Centre prides itself in the delivery of award-winning projects, programmes and courses in STEM education based on current, relevant, real-life and priority challenges in primary and secondary schools and aims to prepare learners for the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).
