Abuja Cardiovascular Research Unit joins the Cape Heart Institute

The Cape Heart Institute is pleased to welcome the Cardiovascular Research Unit of the University of Abuja and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Abuja, in Nigeria. Headed by Prof Dike Ojji, the research unit focuses on global cardiovascular health epidemiology, clinical trials in hypertension and heart failure, implementation science research and training.

CHI director Prof Sliwa, a former PhD supervisor to Prof Ojji, recently visited the Abuja Cardiovascular Research Unit, where ties between the two research groups were strengthened. We look forward to continued collaboration and exchanges between our countries as we work together to tackle the significant burden of non-communicable diseases, in particular cardiovascular diseases, on our continent.
