Jo Wilmshurst
Jo joined the APFP shortly after it began in 2009, and has steered the programme ever since. A specialist in paediatric neurology with a keen interest in high-impact diseases and rare disorders, Jo is the Head of Paediatric Neurology at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, and an active member of varied international and regional boards. As such, Jo is currently President of the International Child Neurology Association and Chair of the African Commission for the International League Against Epilepsy. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the Paediatric Neurology and Development Association of Southern Africa and the African Child Neurology Association (to name a few). As you would expect, Jo is deeply committed to building capacity for workforce development in and across Africa, and is a strong advocate of African representation in international associations – with the APFP testament to this commitment.
