I am Raisa Wessels, a junior consultant in Anatomical Pathology at Groote Schuur Hospital. My current portfolios include Hepatopancreaticobiliary Pathology, Neuroendocrine Pathology, Uropathology and Colorectal Pathology. Additionally, I have a love for Dermatopathology and Autopsy Pathology.

My undergraduate MBChB studies were completed at Stellenbosch University, followed by internship years at the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex and community service at Kimberley Hospital, where I completed a Diploma in HIV Management.

I obtained my FCPath (SA) Anat in 2023, and my MMed in 2024 through the University of Cape Town.

I have a passion for research and personal development, and am currently working towards a MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics as a means of upskilling.
