20th Annual African Vaccinology Course (AAVC)
Day 5: Transforming Evidence-Informed Vaccine Decision-Making & Demand Generation in Africa
The final day focuses on the critical elements of vaccine policy and public engagement. Sessions cover evidence-based decision-making via NITAGs, supported by real-world case studies on TB, measles, and regional ecosystems. The afternoon shifts to vaccine confidence, demand generation, and effective communication strategies for vaccinologists.
Key Learning Outcomes for the Day
- • Understand the role of NITAGs (via NISH) in strengthening evidence-based vaccine decision-making.
- • Analyze real-world case studies on vaccine implementation and decision-making ecosystems in Africa.
- • Identify key strategies to improve vaccine confidence, demand generation, and media engagement.
- • Reflect on methods for improving vaccine demand and the overall course outcomes.
