A recent teaching development has been to place immunology in year 1 of the undergraduate medical student syllabus. Introducing immunology teaching to first-year medical students means that the division has a teaching presence in the first three years of the undergraduate medical syllabus. All lectures have been re-designed to provide a structured introduction to immunology that will allow students to apply immunology in the clinic.
The division also runs detailed laboratory training courses at the beginning of the honours programme which prepare students for the technical and practical aspect of laboratory work.
Human Biology 2rd year: 2 week block in September. This course covers the basics of immunology, cell types, T cell receptors and B cell receptors, Antigen presentation, T and B development, immune responses but in good depth for this stage.
