Dr Monique Klingenberg
Monique is an empathetic medical doctor and aspiring clinician-scientist. She completed her MBChB and BSc (Med) Hons in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town (UCT) through the Intercalated Molecular Medicine Programme. As part-time research assistant with HAMLET, serving in a volunteer capacity, she is helping address local epidemiological gaps in preterm births, a major contributor to neonatal mortality and morbidity that places significant strain on healthcare resources. This project is based at Groote Schuur Hospital. Her broader research interests include clinical genetics, precision medicine, omics sciences, and health informatics, with a particular interest in how data-driven approaches can be used to improve patient care and healthcare delivery.
