Face-to-Face Courses

Our Face-to-Face courses empower educators to reflect critically on how they might support disability-inclusive practice, promote dialogue within a community of inquiry; and explore support systems for educators that promote equity, equal access, and dignity for learners with disabilities. The target audience for these courses includes educators at a school, district and provincial levels and stakeholders involved in supporting the education of learners with disabilities including, for example, school principals, learning support advisors, and district officials.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS)

MOOCs are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale.

The following MOOCs are currently offered and available:

  • Disability Inclusion in Education: Building systems of support
  • Educating Deaf Children: Becoming an Empowered teacher
  • Teaching Children with Visual Impairment: Creating Empowering Classrooms
  • Severe to Profound Intellectual Disability: Circles of Care and Education

Modality

Each MOOC lasts 4-5 weeks each and can be completed in the participant’s own time. The courses include a variety of learning formats and course materials including video lectures, online and offline reading (downloadable content), discussion forums, quizzes and assignments. Mentors and assistance are also available to participants where required.

The course can be completed free of charge, with the option of a Coursera certificate upon completion, at a cost of US$49.
