Research Co-ordinator
Chantal has 13 years of experience in training learners with intellectual disabilities. In 2018, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Disability Studies and is currently completing her Masters Degree. She is engaged in multiple projects including:
- Redesigning Blended Courses Project at the University of Cape Town: This project focuses on incorporating the principles of UDL in Higher education courses within the University of Cape Town.
- Short course on Disability Studies in Education: convenor of the course. The short course is a broad overview of international and local policies, approaches to the education of learners with disabilities and various impairments. The course runs over a period of 8 weeks. The course incorporates the principles of Universal Design for Learning both in theory and practical implementation.
- Development of the Disability Studies in Education e-textbook (or digital textbook): Editor of the DSE course textbook which is being developed which will be a supplement to the coursework and be accessible to a broader audience.
