Ms Beatrix Callard

After working in the secretarial and financial industry, Beatrix changed directions and studied nursing at the University of Namibia. Upon completion she joined the maternity team at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital in the Prem Unit and subsequently moved to the NICU at Windhoek Central Hospital, where she worked as the Senior Registered Nurse. She received her PG Dip Critical Care Child Nursing and Master of Nursing in Child Nursing at UCT.

Beatrix was a founding member of the Independent Midwives Association of Namibia and is serving on the Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council and the Namibian Maternal, Stillbirth, Neonatal Death Review Committee. Her interests are in clinical practice, wellbeing of mother and child and strengthening data collection in the clinical area.

Beatrix has joined the CNDU team as a doctoral fellow in February 2022. She works under the supervision of Natasha North.
