Roeland Wasmann
Roeland is a research officer in the pharmacometrics group.
He studied marine biology and pharmacy at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where he obtained his master’s degree in 2013. After which, Roeland started as a clinical pharmacist at the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands.
From December 2015 to April 2019 Roeland was enrolled as a PhD candidate at the Radboud university medical center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands in collaboration with the St. Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein under the supervision of prof. dr. David Burger, prof. dr. Catherijne Knibbe and dr. Roger Brüggemann.
His PhD thesis focused on the application of nonlinear mixed-effects models to describe pharmacokinetics of antifungal agents in the obese population.
In May 2019, Roeland joined the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Cape Town as a postdoctoral fellow followed by a position as a research officer in 2022.
